Mumbai: Coastal Road Phase Two Inaugurated, Reach Marine Drive To Haji Ali In Just 8 Minutes

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) allocated Rs 3200 crore for the Coastal Road project in its 2022-23 budget. The second phase of the Dharmveer Swarajya Rakshak Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Coastal Road in Mumbai, connecting Worli to Marine Drive, was inaugurated recently. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis led the opening ceremony. The new coastal road features a 2-kilometer tunnel and aims to reduce travel time from 40-50 minutes to just 8 minutes. The first phase of the project was launched earlier and the BMC allocated the largest budget share to this ambitious project. The Coastal Road project is a significant infrastructure development in Mumbai, improving connectivity and reducing travel time for commuters.
