MG Windsor EV launch today: Live and latest updates



Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch its eVX concept as a production model in 2025, which will have a range of up to 500 kms and be sold through Nexa outlets. Hyundai is introducing four new EVs in the Indian market, with the first being the Creta EV planned for the end of FY2025. Mahindra is also focusing on new EV products, while Kia is set to launch its flagship EV9 three-row SUV in India. The push for EVs in India is driven by factors like pollution, oil imports, and the large vehicle market. However, high costs, limited options, and charging infrastructure are hindering mass adoption. JSW MG Motor India is launching the Windsor EV, inspired by the Windsor Castle in the UK. MG sees potential in the Indian EV market, with a focus on competing in the sub- ₹20 lakh price segment. The joint venture between MG and JSW Group is driving new models with alternate fuel sources, aiming to sell one million EVs in India by 2030. MG’s journey in India began in 2019 with the Hector model, which remains popular, along with other models like Hector Plus, Astor, and ZS EV. Despite offering tech-heavy vehicles, Hector continues to be the brand’s mainstay in the Indian market.
