Metro Railway GM Reviews Progress of Work at Water Seepage Site in Kolkata, Check Details

The Kolkata Metro Railway General Manager recently inspected the Bowbazar site of the East-West Metro Railway to check on the progress of work on the Sealdah-Esplanade stretch. The development of the entire corridor between Howrah Maidan and Sector V, initially hoped to be completed by 2025, has been delayed. The GM instructed officials to ensure the tunnel between Sealdah and Esplanade is ready for services to start on the Howrah Maidan-Salt Lake Sector V stretch. The project has faced challenges, including leakage in the under-construction tunnel, but work is ongoing with precautions.Officials are not currently providing a specific timeframe for completion.
