The construction of the Goripalayam flyover bridge in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, is progressing in three phases to decongest the Goripalayam junction. The 700-meter-long and 8.50-meter-wide bridge will be completed by November next year. Service roads will be built on both sides of the flyover, and a vehicle underpass will be constructed for emergency ambulances. The project, expected to cost Rs 190.40 crore, is aimed at reducing traffic congestion in the area. The construction work on the third section is set to begin within a week, following delays in the initial phases of the project.
