Joshimath-Malari-Niti Highway Reopens After Landslide Blockade

The blockage on the Joshimath-Malari-Niti national highway near the China border has been cleared after landslides disrupted traffic, particularly affecting Indian Army and ITBP vehicles. Villages like Dronagiri, Garpak, Malari, and Gamshali were cut off due to the blockade, but the road has now been reopened for pedestrian and vehicular traffic. The Border Roads Organisation worked to clear the debris and restore access to the affected areas. Local residents expressed frustration over the recurring landslides, exacerbated by ongoing road widening work. The situation has now improved, allowing supplies to reach the villages near the border.
