Indian car buyers ready to embrace electric mobility by 2030: Reports



A recent survey by Urban Science and The Harris Poll revealed that the majority of Indian car buyers are ready to switch to new energy vehicles (NEVs), including electric vehicles (EVs), as their primary mode of transportation by 2030. The study found that 83% of Indians are open to opting for NEVs by the end of the decade and are willing to pay a premium for them. The growing interest in EVs is driven by sustainability concerns and the expanding EV infrastructure in the country. However, India still faces challenges in catching up with more advanced EV technology and production scale compared to China. Collaborating with Chinese companies could help accelerate India’s transition to electric mobility.
