Festive Season Flight Fares Under Watch, Says Aviation Minister

The government is closely monitoring rising airfares as the festive season approaches to ensure that passengers do not face heavy fare hikes. Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu reassured travelers that they are keeping an eye on ticket prices and will intervene if necessary. While airlines won’t be forced to maintain the same prices, the government will monitor routes with high festival traffic to prevent excessive fare increases. Additionally, the government is closely watching budget carrier SpiceJet’s financial situation and its efforts to raise funds. Naidu also highlighted India’s ambitious plans for the aviation sector, aiming to become the largest aviation market by 2035 with new aircraft orders and airport construction plans.
