Delhi to get London-like congestion tax: Get ready to pay to drive on roads



The Delhi government is considering implementing a traffic congestion tax to reduce traffic jams during peak hours in the city. The report suggests that 13 key locations on Delhi’s borders have been identified for the congestion tax in the pilot phase. Similar plans have been proposed in the past, including tolls on congested stretches. Other cities like Bengaluru have also considered implementing a congestion tax to address traffic issues. Many cities around the world already have congestion taxes in place, such as London, Singapore, and Stockholm. While there is no timeline for when the congestion charge will be implemented in Delhi, the government aims to improve road conditions alongside the tax.
