Delhi HC asks NHAI to decide representation over undue highway toll collection

The Delhi High Court has instructed the NHAI to address a representation regarding alleged unfair toll fee collection and toll plaza placements on highways nationwide. The petitioner, a lawyer named Anand Mishra, cited specific rules that prohibit toll collection on incomplete highway sections and limit toll plaza distances. The court ordered the NHAI to review the representation within four weeks and comply with the mentioned rules. The petitioner also requested a refund of allegedly unlawfully collected toll fees and a thorough examination of the amount collected. Despite submitting a representation earlier, no action had been taken, prompting the court’s intervention.
