Chinese car maker BYD has achieved impressive sales figures in the international market, surpassing Nissan and Honda in Q2 2024. The brand saw a 40% increase in sales for new models between April and June 2024, making it the seventh-largest carmaker globally. BYD’s low-cost electric models have been well-received, giving tough competition to Ford. The company has been investing more in the international market and has sold 105,000 vehicles outside of China, with strong demand in countries like Brazil, Mexico, Thailand, Japan, Europe, and Southeast Asia. This growth comes at a time when the EV segment is booming globally.
