BYD is working hard to expand its presence in the EU and UK markets, with ambitious plans to double sales locations in the UK. However, there are challenges such as consumer skepticism towards Chinese-made cars and potential tariffs from the EU and UK. Despite these obstacles, some consumers, like Richard Harris, are impressed by BYD’s offerings, such as the Seal model’s sporty styling and advanced features. BYD’s success in the UK and Europe will likely hinge on pricing and improving its reputation among buyers. Consumers today may not pay much attention to which companies or countries own the vehicles they drive. For example, Land Rover is owned by an Indian company, MG is now Chinese, and Vauxhall is French. Many Teslas are also built in China. According to Plummer, most people don’t think about it much as long as the product is good and they can connect with the brand. The key is to focus on the quality and brand connection rather than the origin of the vehicle.
