Bengaluru: Namma Metro, 2nd Largest Network In India, Celebrates 13 Years of Operation

Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is facing a challenge due to the lack of coaches to meet the growing demand for its services. To address this issue, they are considering fare hikes and have set up a committee to make recommendations within 90 days. Despite these challenges, Namma Metro has become an essential public transport system in the city, with a record daily ridership of 9,17,365. The metro network has expanded to 73.81 km with 66 stops, making it the second largest in India. However, the increasing ridership has also led to complaints about overcrowding and lack of space in trains. The BMRCL is confident about the future and is looking to further expand its network to accommodate the growing number of commuters.
