The Directorate of Urban Land Transport (DULT) is expanding bicycle docks at 10 additional Bengaluru Metro stations to meet the increasing demand for secure cycle parking. This initiative aims to provide commuters with safer and greener last-mile connectivity options. The selected stations were chosen based on factors like passenger numbers, available space, and positive feedback from pilot stations. The expansion includes new cycle modules, covered stands, and upgraded parking areas. The success of the pilot project showed strong interest in bicycle parking for last-mile transit, especially in high-ridership areas. Stations with high demand for cycle parking benefit the most from secure and surveilled parking zones.
