Air India is undergoing a $400 million renovation plan to revamp 67 of its older aircraft, starting with 27 narrow-body Airbus A320neo planes. The newly designed A320neo will feature 8 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 132 Economy seats with extra legroom, USB ports, and device holders for added convenience. The refurbishment project aims to provide passengers with a fresh and modern experience, including new cabins, seats, carpets, and more. CEO Campbell Wilson expressed excitement about the revamp, stating that this upgrade is a crucial step in transforming Air India into a world-class airline. The project will also include upgrading the interiors of 40 wide-body Boeing aircraft in the near future.
