President-elect Trump declared winner in swing state Nevada

President-elect Donald Trump has won the swing state of Nevada in the 2024 presidential race, flipping it from the Democrats who had won it in 2020. This victory adds six electoral votes to Trump’s total. The state has a history of voting for Democratic presidential candidates, but Republicans surprised many by winning early in-person voting and narrowing the gap with registered voters. The state’s Democratic turnout advantage has been attributed to the “Reid Machine” established by former Sen. Harry Reid. Both Trump and Vice President Harris made multiple campaign visits to Nevada in the lead-up to the election.
