Karnataka Waqf Row: 2012 Report Reveals Modus Operandi By ‘Influential’ Netas To Siphon Off Funds | Exclusive



A recent report has revealed that there has been an alleged misappropriation of funds amounting to Rs 2 lakh crore in Waqf properties in Karnataka. The report accuses prominent politicians, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and others, of being involved in encroachments and illegal disposals of Waqf properties. Despite a 2012 report highlighting these issues, successive governments have failed to take action. A Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) has been formed to investigate these allegations, with the aim of holding those responsible for the misuse of Waqf assets accountable. The controversy has sparked a social media war between political leaders, with accusations and counter-accusations being exchanged.
