Nepra has announced an increase of Rs3.03 per unit for K-Electric consumers in fuel charges adjustment for July 2024. This hike will be reflected in electricity bills for December 2024. The new rates will apply to all consumers except for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations, lifeline, and prepaid metering consumers. Earlier, KE had requested a Rs3.9 per unit hike, which was approved by Nepra. Nepra also announced a refund of Re0.8555 per unit to consumers who paid higher rates in August 2024. CPPA has requested a 57 paisa per unit decrease in tariff, except for certain consumer categories. This decision comes after a public hearing on September 26 and an official notification on October 24.
