The government in Kerala is launching a seaplane service to improve connectivity and boost tourism in the state. The trial run will take place on November 11 at the Bolgatty palace in Kochi. The service is part of the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS)-UDAN of the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The Minister of Tourism emphasized the importance of enhancing connectivity for the growth of the tourism sector. The seaplane service will allow tourists to visit more destinations in a short amount of time. The service operators will be a Switzerland-based private company and SpiceJet. The seaplane can accommodate different numbers of passengers and will be accessible through waterdromes.
