Virajpet MLA A. S. Ponnanna, who is also the Legal Advisor to the Chief Minister of Karnataka, recently instructed FSSAI officials in Kodagu district to ban the sale of unsafe food items supplied from Kerala. This decision came after complaints from the public and media reports about the quality of food items in certain areas of Kodagu district. A total of 90 food samples were collected and analyzed, with 31 found to be unsafe and four of substandard quality.
