As winter approaches, the speed limit on Yamuna Expressway is currently set at 100 kmph for light vehicles and 80 kmph for heavy vehicles due to poor visibility. Traffic police have issued over 150 e-challans within eight hours to crack down on speeding commuters. Violators face fines of Rs 2,000 for light vehicles and Rs 4,000 for heavy vehicles. To ensure road safety during winter, speed limits may be further reduced between December 15 and February 15. November is observed as ‘Road Safety Month’ with awareness programs and speed-control drives planned in Noida and Greater Noida.
