The State government committee studying public suggestions to combat waterlogging in Guwahati is still working on its final report. After severe waterlogging and flash floods in August, the public was asked for input on mitigating urban flooding. The technical committee created to examine these suggestions includes officials from various departments. Most suggestions received were related to desiltation, drain construction, water pumps, garbage traps, and other common solutions. The committee has compiled all suggestions and is working on formulating an effective solution. Residents’ suggestions have been discussed at meetings, and the committee is taking steps to address the issue of waterlogging in Guwahati.
