Skoda India has introduced its newest compact SUV, the Kylaq, with a starting price of Rs 7.89 lakh. The name was chosen through a contest, paying tribute to Mount Kailash and meaning “crystal” in Sanskrit. Bookings start on December 2, with deliveries set to begin on January 27, 2025. The SUV aims to boost Skoda’s sales in India, with a target of 1,00,000 units annually. The Kylaq features a modern design, packed with essential features like wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and ventilated front seats. It is powered by a 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, making it one of the quickest in its segment. The SUV will compete with rivals like Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet.
