Boundary stones have been laid near Thammanam on Thammanam-Pullepady road for widening and extension up to MG Road and the NH bypass. The Kerala Road Fund Board will widen the stretch to 22 meters and officials are preparing for joint inspection. Some landowners along the stretch are seeking adequate compensation for additional land that will be acquired. Nature activist Purushotama Kamath and other landowners are hopeful that the long-awaited road project will finally come to fruition. A social impact assessment will be done soon, and the land acquisition process is expected to be completed in six to eight months.
