J&K parties criticise NC for dropping ‘Article 370’, ‘Aug 5, 2019’ terms from resolution

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah recently addressed the Assembly session, discussing the resolution on the restoration of special status without explicitly mentioning Article 370 and 35A. This move has sparked strong reactions from various political parties in the region. Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti criticized the resolution for lacking a clear opposition to the 2019 decision and called for stronger amendments. Other political leaders like Sheikh Khursheed and Sajad Lone have also expressed concerns about the ambiguity in the resolution and called for clearer language to reflect the people’s aspirations. Overall, there is a call for explicit condemnation of the 2019 decision and a sincere effort to restore Jammu and Kashmir’s special status.
