Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) has introduced incentives for research and thesis for the first time, with a budget of ₹2 crore reserved for this purpose. This initiative aims to encourage faculty members and students to engage in research activities and improve the overall quality of research at the university. Incentives will be provided for various research activities such as journal papers, conference papers, patents, and product development. Additionally, students winning competitions will also receive rewards. The Vice-Chancellor of VTU highlighted the importance of this program in promoting high-quality research and innovation among faculty and students. Online applications have already been invited for those interested in participating in this incentive program.
