The Transport Department has extended the deadline for installing High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP) until November 30. HSRP is a tamper-proof number plate with non-reusable locks, enhancing vehicle security. Unlike regular number plates that can be easily tampered with, the HSRP can only be removed by breaking the lock. The initial deadline for vehicles registered before April 1, 2019, was November 17, 2023, but due to slow compliance, it has been extended multiple times. A dedicated helpline has been set up for HSRP-related queries, and vehicle owners are urged to comply with the directive before the extended deadline to avoid penalties or enforcement measures.
