Chennai: MTC To Roll Out Pink Deluxe Buses For Women’s Comfort Amid Fleet Shortage

The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) in Chennai is repainting some of its red deluxe buses in pink to make public transport safer and more comfortable for women. With over 700 red buses, many over five years old, MTC plans to repaint a selection of these buses from its 30 depots across the city. The move aims to increase accessibility for female commuters who rely on pink buses for safer travel. Although the current pink buses are in poor condition, the addition of more pink buses will benefit city commuters, especially since nearly half of MTC’s fleet is used for regular services.
