An employee at a bar in Neelambur near Coimbatore was arrested for allegedly murdering a migrant worker. The victim, Pobitra Rai, had visited the bar to celebrate Deepavali with friends when he got into a verbal altercation with another employee, S. Aravind, under the influence of alcohol. Aravind allegedly stabbed Rai in the abdomen with a broken beer bottle. Rai was taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Aravind was detained by police, arrested, and remanded to judicial custody. The incident occurred on October 31 and Aravind was arrested on Sunday.
