FBI asked to investigate death of Black man whose body was found hanging in abandoned Alabama home

The Colbert County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama has requested the FBI to investigate the death of Dennoriss Richardson, a Black man whose body was found hanging in an abandoned home. While the sheriff’s office initially ruled his death a suicide, his wife believes it was made to look like one and is demanding answers. Richardson’s wife claims he was not depressed and had filed a federal lawsuit against police in Sheffield, accusing them of abusive behavior. The FBI has stated they take allegations of federal law violations seriously and will further investigate if there is evidence of potential wrongdoing.
