Kerala temple fireworks accident: one person succumbs to burns

A tragic incident occurred at Anjoottambalam Veerarkavu temple in Neeleswaram, resulting in the death of a 38-year-old man named Sandeep due to severe burns from a fireworks accident. Sandeep had been receiving treatment at Baby Memorial Hospital in Kannur but unfortunately, he did not survive. This is the first fatality following the fireworks mishap on October 29, which left 154 people injured. The police have initiated an investigation and registered a case against nine individuals, including temple committee members, for not following safety protocols. Preliminary findings suggest that the accident was caused by fireworks being ignited near a storage area without proper safety measures in place.
