Ram Madhav, a BJP national general secretary, declared National Conference’s victory in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections post Article 370 abrogation as a “great achievement” for the central government. He highlighted the high voter turnout and participation from all sections of society. Madhav also suggested the possibility of a Hindu Chief Minister in Jammu and Kashmir in the future. Despite BJP’s popularity in Jammu, he acknowledged the need for proper representation from the region in the government. Madhav emphasized the importance of unity and integration within the state, hinting at BJP’s new focus post Article 370 repeal. He also mentioned the need to move past the dominance of certain political families in the region.
