The Kerala Water Authority will address concerns about the Kerala Urban Water Services Improvement Project in a presentation to the Kochi Corporation council. Trade unions and a public resistance movement have protested the project, fearing privatization of drinking water supply. The council has passed a resolution against the project and raised issues about replacing pipelines and privatization. The Water Resources Minister assured the Mayor that the concerns would be addressed, and the 190 MLD water project would be implemented. A presentation will be held after meetings with MLAs and trade unions.
