BTR becomes first Sixth Schedule Council in NE to digitise land records



During a meeting at the BTR Secretariat, EM Ranjit Basumatary highlighted the BTR’s commitment to addressing land-related matters and implementing people-friendly policies. The focus was on discussing the draft Land Policy for tea growers and small tea garden owners, with emphasis on digitizing land records and providing online land revenue services. Over 2,00,000 land pattas have been issued in the past four years, and Mission Bwiswmuthi 1.0 has resolved 80,073 land-related issues. Basumatary urged the Small Tea Growers’ Association to spread awareness about the available services. The meeting also discussed extending the policy to rubber cultivation and received suggestions from members of the association. EMs Dr. Dharma Narayan Das and Dr. Nilut Swargiary expressed satisfaction with the progress under the leadership of Chief Executive Member, Pramod Boro.
