The Wayne County Prosecutor’s office is considering a warrant request for the arrest of Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams on a concealed weapon charge. The request stems from a traffic stop on Oct. 8 where two guns were found in the vehicle, one belonging to Williams without the proper license. Despite being handcuffed, Williams was released after a supervisor and sergeant made calls to higher-ranking officers. The Detroit Police Department is investigating the matter further. Williams has hired an attorney and the Lions are staying informed on the situation. This incident occurred before Williams was suspended for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
