‘Received Assurances On J&K Statehood’, Says Omar After Meetings With PM Modi, Shah



Recently, Omar Abdullah, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi. During the meetings, Abdullah hinted that he received assurances about the restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed concerns about the current “hybrid” model of governance in the region and warned officials against exploiting it. Abdullah emphasized that there will be zero tolerance for any misuse of power. The discussions between Abdullah and the central government officials signify potential changes in the governance model for Jammu and Kashmir.
