Being high NFL draft picks, there were high expectations for quarterbacks Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels. Their rookie seasons had been explosive, living up to the hype. However, their first meeting on Sunday didn’t meet expectations until the last quarter, where it became an instant classic. Williams led the Chicago Bears to a comeback from a 12-point deficit, taking a 15-12 lead with 23 seconds left. However, Daniels, playing through an injury, threw a Hail Mary pass that was tipped and caught by Noah Brown for the game-winning touchdown. Washington won 18-15 in an improbable finish.
