Revanth forces second phase of Metro Rail expansion to bring facility to 8 lakh new passengers every day



Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi and Hyderabad Metro Rail Managing Director N.V.S. Reddy, laid the foundation stone for the Old City Metro Project in Hyderabad. The Cabinet has approved the much-awaited metro rail phase-II with an estimated cost of ₹24,269 crores, to be completed in the next four years. The project aims to connect key routes around the city and extend existing routes, with a focus on providing connectivity to the airport. The State and Central governments will share the costs, with the remaining funds raised through loans. The expansion will increase the metro’s carrying capacity and improve connectivity to suburban areas.
