Concern over ‘delay’ in completing renovation of Container Road in Kochi

Residents of Mulavukad and nearby areas are frustrated with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the delay in renovating the 17-km Container Road and its service roads. Despite the road being closed for four months, little progress has been made, forcing vehicles to take a narrow service road and risking the safety of pedestrians and other road users. The lack of streetlights and illegal parking of container lorries further add to the dangers on the road. NHAI officials have reassured that the renovation work is ongoing, but residents are still facing challenges on the poorly lit and unsafe stretch.
