Israel leaves a trail of destruction after dayslong siege at one of Gaza’s last hospitals

Israeli forces withdrew from Kamal Adwan hospital in Beit Lahia after a dayslong siege, leaving destruction behind. At least 30 people were killed in overnight strikes in the city. The hospital was one of the area’s last medical lifelines, and airstrikes also demolished houses in the Al-Khazan neighborhood. The situation is described as catastrophic by the director-general of the World Health Organization, with limited staff to care for patients. The IDF said it was targeting terrorist infrastructure, but the attacks have raised concerns of a targeted starvation campaign. The situation in northern Gaza is dire, with tens of thousands fleeing and fears of more violence.
