Texas bounces back with close win over Vanderbilt in first matchup since 1920s



The Texas Longhorns played the Vanderbilt Commodores for the first time since 1928 and won 27-24 in Nashville, their first win there since 1925. Quarterback Quinn Ewers bounced back from a tough loss the previous week, throwing for 288 yards and three touchdowns. Despite throwing two interceptions, head coach Steve Sarkisian praised Ewers for his composure and performance. Vanderbilt tried to mount a comeback, but Texas held on for the win. Texas improved to 7-1 on the season, while Vanderbilt fell to 5-3.
