Kathakali fest by Thripunithura Kathakali Kendram gets under way

K.G. Paulose, former Vice-Chancellor of Kalamandalam Deemed to be University, inaugurated the annual Kathakali fest organized by Thripunithura Kathakali Kendram. Kottakkal Kunjuraman received the Kalamandalam Karunakaran Puraskaram. Dr. Paulose, who won Kendra Sahitya Akademi’s Bhasha Samman, was honored at the event. Ranjini Suresh gave a talk on Kathakali maestro Kalamandalam Ramankutty Nair. Margi Madhu presented chakyar koothu and Kalakeyavadham Kathakali was staged. The event will continue with pancha maddala keli and a Carnatic music and Kathakali padams performance. Hibi Eden, MP, will inaugurate the concluding event followed by a Keechakavadham Kathakali performance.
