Relief for Rhea Chakraborty; SC upholds Bombay HC order quashing CBI’s LOCs

The Supreme Court dismissed a plea by the CBI challenging the quashing of look-out circulars against Rhea Chakraborty and her family in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, calling it “frivolous”. The court warned the probe agency for filing such a petition and threatened to impose costs. The Bombay High Court had earlier ruled that the circulars were not justified as the Chakrabortys had cooperated with the investigation. The case dates back to Rajput’s death in 2020, with allegations of abetment of suicide against Chakraborty and her family. Both Rhea and her brother were arrested in a drugs case but later released on bail.
