Delhi’s Air Quality Improves Ahead of Diwali, AQI In ‘Poor’ Category After 4 Days

Delhi’s air quality improved on Friday with an AQI reading of 270, putting it in the “poor” category due to favorable wind speed. However, experts warn that pollution levels may rise again in three days. The Commission for Air Quality Management may advance to GRAP Stage 3 or 4 to control the anticipated pollution surge. PM-10 and PM-2.5 were the prominent pollutants, with the transport sector being the biggest contributor to pollution. Delhi Environment Minister demonstrated drone-based services to identify pollution sources while urging residents to participate in pollution reduction efforts. The weather department forecast clear skies with temperatures around 33 degrees Celsius and 19 degrees Celsius for Saturday.
