The centralised kitchen in Tiruchi, functioning under the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme, has recently been awarded ISO 9001:2015 and 22000:2018 certifications. This kitchen prepares breakfast for 8,700 students in 74 government schools in the city. The certification process involved various quality standards such as cleanliness, monitoring worker health, ingredient checks, and storage room cleanliness. The process began a year ago and involved a thorough assessment by a Lead Assessor. The certifications are valid until October 2027, with follow-up surveys scheduled for 2025 and 2026. This kitchen plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality meals for children aged one to five.
