US must weigh ‘military action against’ North Korean forces if invading Ukraine: House intel chair Turner

Rep. Mike Turner, chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, stated that if North Korean troops invade Ukraine, the US should consider military action against them. Defense Sec. Lloyd Austin reported that North Korean troops have been deployed to Russia, with evidence showing at least 3,000 soldiers in eastern Russia. The US has provided Ukraine with significant assistance in its conflict with Russia. Turner also suggested that if North Korean forces target Ukraine from Russian territory, Ukraine should be allowed to use US weapons to retaliate. Democratic Rep. Mike Quigley highlighted the seriousness of the situation, noting that Putin’s partnership with North Korea indicates a determination to escalate the conflict in Ukraine.
