In a press conference in Mumbai, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar confirmed that he will be contesting the upcoming Assembly election from Baramati, putting an end to rumours about stepping aside for his son. The NCP, in alliance with BJP and Shiv Sena, released its first list of candidates, including loyal MLAs and some new faces. The election will take place on November 20, with results on November 23. Ajit Pawar will face a challenge from his nephew, marking a second political battle within the Pawar family. The Shiv Sena also released its candidate list, including Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
