Cyclone Dana: 3 lakh evacuated in Odisha; Kolkata, Bhubaneswar airports shut



Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced that over 30% of the targeted 10 lakh people have been evacuated as Cyclone Dana approaches the state’s coastal areas. The government is focusing on evacuating people from the coastal belt, with approximately 3 lakh people already moved to safety. The state is fully prepared to handle the situation, with experienced officers and ministers deployed in affected districts. Three ports in Odisha have issued great danger signals, and train and flight cancellations are in effect. Airports in Kolkata and Bhubaneswar will suspend operations for safety reasons. The Kolkata Municipal Corporation is also taking measures to ensure readiness for any emergencies.
