The Odisha government has approved a new Air Connectivity Policy that offers financial incentives to airlines to launch new domestic and international flights from various airports in the state. The policy includes viability gap funding of Rs 5 lakh per round trip for domestic routes and Rs 10 lakh for international routes. Airlines must meet eligibility criteria and commit to sustainable operations. A high-power committee led by the Chief Secretary will oversee implementation and monitor route performance. The policy aims to stimulate tourism, create jobs, enhance trade, and drive regional development. Additionally, the cabinet approved amendments to the Subhadra Yojana and the implementation of the Samruddhi Krushak Yojana to support farmers.
