The MVA, which includes Congress and Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, is facing challenges in finalizing seat-sharing for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. Congress wants more seats in Vidarbha, which they see as their stronghold, while Shiv Sena is pushing for more representation in the region as well. Sena is specifically demanding 12 seats in Vidarbha, where currently there are no MVA MLAs. The seat-sharing tussle is also ongoing in Mumbai. Uddhav Sena may have to settle for 90 seats, down from the 124 they had in 2019.
