The Directorate of Medical Services has ordered Rainbow Hospitals in Chennai to stop regular health services for 10 days due to violations of sterilization protocols. The hospital allowed a non-medical person to cut the umbilical cord during a delivery, which was filmed and posted online by a YouTuber. The DMS issued a show cause notice to the hospital and filed complaints against the YouTuber and the gynaecologist involved. Pregnant women who have already registered with the hospital can still go there for deliveries.
